FACTORS UNDERLYING THE LACK OF A SENSE OF SELF-ESTEEM AND AUTONOMY 缺乏自尊感与自主感底下的因素 We are intent at this stage of our analysis on bringing into focus some of the influences which lie behind the feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness to which the paranoid reaction is a response. The general thesis that we are developing here is that the paranoid response is a more or less specific reaction to an underlying complex of depressive and autonomy-deprived self-impairments. The psychology behind such a deep sense of impairment cannot be adequately considered in the compass of what we are attempting here. But we can focus on some of the highlights of this inner state in order to help us to better understand the genesis of paranoia.
