Paranoid Mechanisms: Introjection 偏执机制:内摄 Our argument has advanced to the point where we can begin to articulate a theory of the paranoid process. It should be plain from a reading of what has preceded that the elements of a theory and fragments of its development have been scattered throughout the pages of this book. The first step is to formulate that portion of the theory which has to do with the mechanisms of the paranoid process, specifically the mechanisms of introjection, projection, and what we have described as the paranoid construction. Our next step is to describe the functional aspects of the paranoid process, particularly those that serve defensive purposes in the organization of psychic functioning, as well as those that are more specifically related to the vicissitudes of the developmental process.
